Bagamoyo Port plan still alive-Government

 

The construction of Bagamoyo Port in Coast Region will officially take off immediately after Government Negotiation Team (GNT) finishes discussion with key investors; China Merchants Port Holdings Company Ltd (CMPort) and Oman’s State General Reserve Fund (SGRF).

This was revealed, Wednesday, when Deputy Minister for Works and Communication, Elias Kwandikwa was responding to Bagamoyo MP, Dr Shukuru Kawambwa’s basic question sought to know when the project will start after the trio signed a contract back in September, 2015.

The Deputy Minister told the lawmakers that, 7 December, 2016, Government decided that the Bagamoyo Port should be implemented in partnership with private sector for the speedy construction.
