Minister suspends manager, dissolves Marine Board

The Minister of Fisheries and Livestock Development, Luhaga Mpina has suspended Manager of Marine Parks and Reserves Unit Dr Milali Machumu following CAG report unveiled some shortcomings.

Using power vested on him by the law, the Minister has dissolved the Unit’s Board of Trustee for inefficiency.

Speaking to reporters in Bunge’s premises in Dodoma, Monday, Mr Mpina said CAG’s report being an eye-opener, has unveiled 24 shortcomings in the same unit that prompted him to take such decisions.

After announcing the decisions, Minister Mpina directed Permanent Secretary of his Ministry to form committee to probe the suspended manager.
