Women premier league enters last eight today

                      
THE eighth round of the Serengeti Premium Lite Women league is scheduled to bounce back today and tomorrow at various venues across the country.

According to the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) Media and Communication Officer, Clifford Ndimbo, three quarter final matches will be played today, while one match is scheduled for tomorrow.
Ndimbo said Evergreen will welcome Alliance Queens from Mwanza at the Karume Complex in Dar es Salaam, while at the Mbweni grounds; JKT Queens will host Simba Queens. The other match of the day will see Kigoma Sisters taking on Baobab at the Lake Tanganyika Stadium in Kigoma. The last quarterfinal will pit Panama with Mlandizi Queens tomorrow at Samora Stadium in Iringa.
The league was stopped to give room for ample preparations of the national women football team ‘Twiga Stars’ which was in camp for the AFCON qualifiers double header clash against Zambia’s Shepolopolo.
“The eighth round will be played on home and away basis with each team looking sharp to do better in the competition,” reads part of the information. In another development, sponsors of the league Serengeti Breweries Limited through its Serengeti Premium Lite brand yesterday, presented official kits to the team.
Serengeti Marketing Manager, Anitha Msangi said yesterday that the company believes that supporting women football will bring about positive transportation towards the growth of the game in the country. She said fans have also huge role to play in helping women football to develop by among others attending in big numbers at venues that hosts the league matches.
